No Way

We can’t be nearing August already.
What the hell has happened?

Am I the only one who thinks the year 2013 is laughing up its sleeve while passing by in the blink of an eye?
I had so many plans for this year, including publishing three books – and not ONE has come out yet! Nothing goes according to plan…and I think I’m going to panic.

Ivory Guard isn’t finished, Facing Shadows isn’t either…I’m changing and pushing back the publication dates every month now.

Obviously it’s time to up the game!

Fireworks

...I don't know why, but they make my heart ache. I love watching those bursts of color explode like flowers in the night sky. One moment they are there almost within arm's reach and then ... they whisper away.

It's the 14th of July, the French National Day or Bastille Day, which commerates not only the storming of the Bastille (1789) but also the unity of France (Fête de la Fédération, 1790).
Last night was a time for celebration and fireworks. It was absolutely beautiful, and suprising that a small town like the one I now live in actually organizes a half-hour long pyrotechnic masterpiece.

Speaking of fireworks...
a quote from "The Hunt is On" on Goodreads:

“I never felt so...argh and grrr and hmmm before."
Pauline laughed. "That's a good one."
I glared at her, throwing a croissant at her as a punishment. Which she caught. Hmpf.
"I can't describe it. I'm not a poet."
"Fireworks?"
Remembering yesterday, the kisses and the heat, I answered without hesitation, "Bombs.”

Maiwenn Cadic doesn’t have a quiet and normal life.
This week won’t be any different.

Being the Patroness of Paris and protecting its inhabitants is a full time job but unfortunately it doesn’t pay the bills and so Maiwenn tries her best to make a living as a down-on-her luck private eye for odd cases.

When five shapeshifters end up dead, she knows it’s bad news and has to call in The Council. They immediately send their assassin Kylian ‘The Killer’ Tremaine – a typical shapeshifter who doesn’t take ‘no’ for an answer and seems to see everything female as a damsel in distress which Maiwenn is really not.

Together they will not only have to overcome their prejudices and obstacles in the form of a trigger-happy bounty hunter and a hungry rogue, but they will also have to trust each other in order to solve the murder before more bodies pile up.
