I'm back...

from visiting my family in Germany.
The Harvey Wallbanger - my birthday cake! :)
Once again I had a wonderful time seeing and catching up with family and friends.

My cousin had the wonderful idea that we could bake a late birthday cake for me - so that's what we did. The two of us like to bake and cook, but my cousin is the one who has all the fantastic books of culinary delights. And she already had an idea as to what cake we could bake: The Harvey Wallbanger. Since there's vodka, galliano and orange juice in it, I would have been a fool to say no. ;)
I'm pretty sure that if we hadn't been supposed to meet up with my brother afterwards, we would have eaten all of the dough before it even had a chance to get into the oven.

Lighthouse Timmendorf, Poel Island
Basically my whole visit was a delight for my taste buds.
One day my parents and I went to Poel Island. After a nice walk on the beach and being suprised by a shower of rain, we decided it was a good excuse to snuggle up somewhere warm. We ended up in a restaurant my parents already had been to before and ate codfish - it was delicious! So was the white wine that went with it! *Sigh - wishing I could have that again* :)
It turned out to be quite the perfect timing too, since the sun was out again once we were done and so we enjoyed another (though much shorter and lazier) walk!

After two weeks of socializing and eating and (wine) drinking...I guess it's really time to get back to work. That book won't write itself.
